Hello, my name is Sylvia. I am speaking for my family, so here we go. My husband and I were already just getting by and doing the best we could with what we had, but sometimes things happen that you can't predict, and that is what is happening to my family right now. Over Labor Day weekend, my husband fell and broke his back, which has taken away our biggest income that paid most of our bills. I'm on disability, and on top of all that, we have four children that live at home with us: 15, 8, 7, and 5 years old. We were making it, but then all of this happened, and I'm not one that likes to ask for help, but I feel like I'm drowning. My husband had surgery and then was in ICU, and now he is out of ICU, thank you God, but he is still in the hospital, and they keep changing the date that he is coming home. My family and I really need the help; every little bit matters and helps my family. I haven't had the time to sit down and process everything because I'm more worried about how I'm going to pay rent, lights, bus fare for me to get to work and back home, kids' doctors' appointments, my husband's doctors' appointments, and my doctors' appointments. I have a part-time job; it's not much, but I'm grateful for my job as it helps somewhat. They say my husband could be out of work for a year to 18 months. I'm not asking for help for that long; I just need to get my family above water, and then I can handle it from there. If you can help, we would be so grateful for it. I'm working on getting benefits for my husband now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We would love and appreciate prayers as well.
