Shonie Swain, a resident of South Broadway Avenue, is currently facing extremely difficult financial circumstances. Poverty not only affects her daily life but also poses major challenges in meeting basic needs such as food, housing, and health care.
How the Community Can Help
Food Assistance: Shonie may be able to receive assistance through Swain County DSS’s Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) program. Additionally, organizations such as the Swain County Family Resource Center may be able to provide food through the “Christmas Cheer” program or other community initiatives.
Financial Assistance: Nonprofit organizations such as GiveDirectly may be a resource, providing direct cash assistance for Shonie to decide how best to use it.
