Hello my name is Omar.

I have a niece whom I love ever so much that has recently been put through one of life’s hardest challenges.

She has just lost the love of her life after enduring a 13 year battle with the big “C”.

Her husband Jose had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 13 years ago. Since then it was an all uphill battle.

They endured the trials and tribulations of radiation therapy and followed closely by chemotherapy, both of which if you are familiar with are no walks in the Park.

During these hard times there was a 4 year remission which gave some hope only to be torn away and the battle resumed. During these times they battled the disease as well as all other of life’s everyday happenings.

Then a year ago Jose realized the battle was getting closer to an end BUT knew that end wouldn’t be the “end” he was fighting for. He was on the losing side.

So this past January the size of the tumor increased and caused hospitalization after hospitalization, all of which are not only taxing and terrifying on the soul but also on finances.

On March 29, 2025, Jose succumbed to this horrible disease freeing him from his earthly binds.

Leaving behind my niece, Roselyn, to sort through a lifetime of plans and needs that are unfortunately far from her being able to handle alone.

You’d think there’d be some sort of insurance but unfortunately that is non existent. He outlived his insurance by being terminally ill and not affording the premiums. So that terminated a year ago!

What came in between is a pile of hospital bills that you wouldn’t believe unless it happened to you. And I pray it never does!

What I’m trying to do with this go fund me is rally the troops, family and friends alike, to help me to help Roselyn.

She is too proud to even ask but we talk and I can hear and see the stress this is causing. I am only wanting to close any gap I can in reaching out to help her.
