Aid Richard's Loved Ones in Tough Times
Donation protected

Hi, my name is Cathy, though some know me as CJ. I am writing this to support my sister-in-law, niece, and nephew in their time of need.
As many of you know, my family is very private. We don’t often share personal matters or ask for help—but today, I am reaching out.
Not long ago, my brother began experiencing seizures. Further testing revealed that he had a form of brain cancer. He fought with everything he had, but the battle has taken its toll. My brother is still fighting, but as of yesterday, he was moved to hospice care. Our family is devastated—how can someone so strong be brought to this point?
For those who know Richard (Will) South, you know he is a big, tough guy with an even bigger heart. He has a deep love for his country and his community. Many in New Hampshire, especially Strafford County, know him for his decades of service at the county jail and his dedication to the Special Olympics. He’s that crazy guy who wears sandals in the dead of winter just to take the polar plunge for a good cause.
His greatest love is his family—his amazing wife and two beautiful children. He has always supported them in every way possible, whether attending football games because his daughter was cheering or getting the sheriff’s cruiser to show support for his son and the Special Olympics. I have countless photos of Will at events with his kids, always present, always proud. And through it all, his wife has been his rock, standing by his side since the ‘90s. I can’t begin to imagine what she is going through. I know the pain I feel at the thought of losing my brother, but I can’t fathom the heartbreak of losing the love of your life.
Since Will has always been there for others, I am asking our friends, family, and community to be there for his family now. I don’t know the full cost of a funeral or any remaining medical expenses, but I do know it won’t be easy. If you are able to help support his family in any way, please consider doing so. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. All donations will go to his wife and kids.
