Our mom was in a bad car accident last night, that originally ended up being a hit and run. The other driver was an unlicensed 16-year-old who totaled our mom’s car and then left the scene without checking on her well-being. The officers are still attempting to get ahold of the parent to confirm insurance or not, but at this point, our mom is without a car since it was totaled and she has no means to get to work, nor can she afford to take the time off from work since she is a single 73-year-old woman just trying to make ends meet. She wasn’t badly injured from the accident surprisingly, and walked away with lacerations to the face, arms, all-over body pain, and a mild concussion.

Our mom’s car was already paid off and she can’t currently afford a new car payment. We are hoping to be able to assist with some payment, or at least anything to assist her in getting a rental car until insurance gets figured out. I understand that if the other party doesn’t have insurance, her insurance will pick up the slack, but we all know how long insurance can take to pay anything out, and unfortunately, she doesn’t have rental coverage!
