Hello everyone our family is trying to gather help for my dad. On Sunday October 19th my dad went on his usual morning walk. He never came back home that morning, we thought it was a bit odd, as he also left his bike outside the door and left without his backpack or phone. My mom made efforts to call local jails but no luck. On Thursday October 23rd an unknown lady came to our door, before any introduction she just lifted her phone and showed us a picture of my dad and asked if we knew the person in the picture. He was deported and was being held in a deportation center in Tijuana, Mexico. We were able to get him out of there for now with help from family friends and are currently working on getting him back to his hometown. My dad has no family left back where he’s from. We are asking for some help from the community and friends. He’s over 60 years old, my dad helped my mom with expenses as he could with construction jobs, however with age, things have become harder due to age, eye sight, hard of hearing and sugar levels. We are trying to make sure he has clothes, food, shelter, medication and supplies as we help him get back to his hometown. He is currently trying to get some strength back from this traumatic event he has experience. He has bruises, cuts and bad nutrition. He was taken with empty pockets only about $20 dollars and 2 scratchers.

Hola a todos, nuestra familia está intentando conseguir ayuda para mi papá. El domingo 19 de octubre, mi papá salió a dar su paseo matutino habitual. Nunca regresó a casa esa mañana; nos pareció un poco extraño, ya que también dejó su bicicleta afuera y se fue sin mochila ni teléfono. Mi mamá intentó llamar a las cárceles locales, pero no hubo suerte. El jueves 23 de octubre, una mujer desconocida llamó a nuestra puerta; sin presentarse, simplemente levantó su teléfono, nos mostró una foto de mi papá y nos preguntó si conocíamos a la persona de la foto. Fue deportado y se encuentra retenido en un centro de deportación en México. Logramos sacarlo de allí por ahora con ayuda de amigos de familia y actualmente estamos trabajando para que regrese a su ciudad natal. Mi papá no tiene familia en su país de origen. Estamos pidiendo ayuda a la comunidad y a sus amigos. Tiene más de 60 años. Mi papá ayudó a mi mamá con los gastos como pudo con trabajos de construcción; sin embargo, con la edad, las cosas se han vuelto más difíciles debido a la edad, la vista, la dificultad para oír y los niveles de azúcar. Nos aseguramos de que tenga ropa, comida, refugio, medicamentos todo lo necesario mientras lo ayudamos a regresar a su ciudad natal. Tiene moretones, cortes y mala alimentación. Se lo llevaron con los bolsillos vacíos, solo unos 20 dólares y dos juguetes para raspar.
