Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
I’m writing this with a heart full of relief and deep gratitude—my son Max has been found and is safely back with me.
We recently experienced a terrifying custody crisis that no parent should ever have to face. For a period of time, Max was withheld from me, in violation of our custody agreement while his father was experiencing severe mental health issues. It was an emotionally devastating experience that has left lasting impacts. During this time, Max’s father was arrested on unrelated felony charges, and I am now navigating the legal aftermath, the emotional healing process, and the financial toll of this ordeal.
While I am beyond grateful to have my son home, the truth is: this situation along with his father’s mental health issues and drawing out our divorce as long as possible has cost us dearly. We relied completely on my ex husband financially. I was provided child support for two months and then I was required to jump through hoops for the bare minimum and basic essentials like groceries and new shoes for Max. I have lost significant income while focusing entirely on our safety and well-being. The emotional stress, legal expenses, and disruption to our lives has been immense.
I’m asking for support to help us stabilize and heal as we move forward. Your contributions will go directly toward:
• Covering essential bills and lost income
• Legal fees related to ongoing custody and protection proceedings
• Counseling and trauma support for both Max and myself
• Creating a safe, stable, and peaceful home environment for our continued healing
Every donation—no matter the amount—makes a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to give financially, sharing this page or sending your prayers and love is equally appreciated.
Thank you for holding us in your hearts. This community has already carried us through so much. Now, as we step into the next phase of healing, your support helps us reclaim peace, safety, and a sense of normalcy again.
With love and hope,
Monica & Max
