Aid Mom's Fight Against Liver Cancer
Donation protected
Hello friends and family. This GoFundMe is for the one person in the world who means everything to me aside from my boys and "hubby."
About a month or so ago, my mother let me know that she had been diagnosed with liver cancer in December, but she didn't tell me because of all the tests to be sure and because she knew how I would react to the news. She starts her radiation treatments on Monday and I'm beside myself because I can't be there for her.
Mom has been retired from the workforce for several years, still in Virginia, and with me living in Indiana on limited means as you all know, recently having lost my job due to liquidation, you can only imagine how helpless I felt when I got the news. I cried for hours. My boss can vouch for the fact I was unable to go to work the next day from being just devastated and needing time to cope with this change in our lives.
Needless to say, we've soldiered on, but now, mom needs help and with me being in the position I'm in, I have nothing I can help her with. She visits the doctors 3-4 times a week, and her retirement funds are so strained, she is in need of help financially to help pay bills, pay for her medicine that just went up in price, and ultimately just to survive.
$6000 sounds like so much, and if I had it, I would give it to mom in a heartbeat to help her, but the cards I've been dealt have left me with pretty much nothing right now. My priority though is her above all else. I'm just a daughter wanting her mom to be okay and taken care of from so far away.
If you would like to help and can, thank you so much from the bottom of mine and my boys' hearts. They love their Nana so much. You can't imagine how they felt when I had to break the news to them as well. They have been so supportive and do their best to keep in touch with her often despite the distance. Both tell me every day they wish there was something more they could do to help her, and my heart truly does hurt for them and mom.
Like I said, this is for mom. She has been a pillar of strength for me my entire life, and as I sit here crying, asking for help from any of my family and friends, please understand I wish it didn't have to come to this point, but life has a way of really kicking me especially when I'm already down. I'll make it, but mom needs everything more than I do right now.
If you can help, thank you so much for any little bit. If you can't, I completely understand. I love you all and once again, thank you for just being there for us, even if it's for thoughts, prayers, and well wishes.
