Aid Mike and Sandy Fleming's Long Road to Recovery

My name is Dawn Fleming I am the daughter in law of Mike and sandy fleming. My mother and father in law have been on a mini vacation a few hours away. They decided to go for a walk Thursday evening 9/12, while out walking they were crossing the street at a cross walk when a car came around the corner and hit them both.

My father In law is very sore, and shaken up. Unfortunately, my mother in law suffered some serious injuries, she fractured her pelvis/hip and also fractured her spine she will be having surgery on her hip this evening (Friday 9/13).

9-19 update:

Mom is unable to sit stand or walk. We are trying to get her transferred to Ohio to be closer to family, to do so we have to be sure she is stable enough for the drive and we have to pay out of pocket for a private ems transfer. She has many fractures and a severely broken hip this is going to be a very long road for them and very costly at that, if they have to stay where they are my father will need to rent a place to stay for some time. Therefore do to all the new happenings I have changed our goal up a bit for her medical bills transportation and all the therapy needed as well for his necessities, gas food lodging ontop of all thier normal expenses. They are very deserving people and can definitely use the help and prayers as the next few months will be extremely difficult for them both!

This is so very hard and emotional for our family especially their 3 children with the distance for a couple of them being 3 hours away and the other being 18 hours away.

If you can find it in your heart to help in anyway we would all be very grateful!

As I said They are both the kindest, generous people you would ever meet, they are so loved by us all!

We appreciate anything and we especially would appreciate all the prayers!

9/24 update: my MIL was transferred to a hospital 10 minutes from us all, praise God because they both needed us!

she still has a long road, we continue to pray as she starts to work with physical therapy, as you can imagine this is very hard on her, she is in a lot of pain from all the cracks fractures and broken hip. We pray she will continue to remain strong push through physical therapy everyday.

Please please continue to pray for her and my FIL, he is still very sore and has a bad knee and back, extremely exhausted we pray strength over him!

Please continue to share. sadly they have to pay out of pocket for the transportation which was over 4,000. I don’t want them to stress over this, insurance only covers 50 miles and it was over a 200 mile trip.

We feel all the love support and prayers and appreciate you all so very much! I will continue to update as we go through this recovery! ❤️
