Aid Mark Gentry's Fight for Health

Hello everyone,

My name is Kaiya. I’m the daughter of Shari and Mark Gentry. I’m sharing this to help raise money for my parents due to medical reasons. This is my stepfather, Mark. He had a bleeding ulcer that ruptured and went septic on my birthday, August 10th, this year. When they got him to the hospital, his kidneys had failed, his liver was failing, and they could barely get a blood pressure reading from him. He was in sepsis and almost died on the table twice. Then, three weeks later, he had another emergency surgery for a twisted colon that adhered to his stomach during healing, which, as you could probably guess, caused him immense pain after having stomach surgery. Then he had two more ER visits due to complications. He hasn’t been able to keep food down and is constantly in pain since his pain meds are making him sick. He’s had a total of 5 ER visits in September.

My mom and Mark got hit with a medical bill for $73,000, and that’s even with medical insurance! Which is insane to me, especially since he served in the military and is a veteran who served in Afghanistan. On top of that, they live in North Carolina and are dealing with the hurricanes that have been destroying everything in their area.

I know everyone’s going through things, and this year just seems to be the worst for a lot of people. But even if you have $1 to spare to help my parents, it would be greatly appreciated.
