An update from Jenn:
Hi all!! Thank you for taking the time to read my story After 6 infusions of Enhertu & Perjeta my scans are showing NED (No evidence of disease) this is fantastic news! But we’re not out of the woods yet. Cancer cells can still be there, just too small for scans to detect. Also, being stage 4 means the cancer cells are circulating in my bloodstream so they could “find a home” anywhere in my body and start growing again. Or even worse the DNA / pathology of my cancer can mutate & change or become resistant to the drugs which would require us to change treatment. We’re obviously hoping for the best but I also want to try to prepare for the worst. I plan to return to work next school year, but I’ll undoubtedly need to take some time off (without pay) periodically for my treatments (every 21 days) and scans, echos and for dealing with side effects (heavy fatigue, dehydration, diarrhea, dizziness, nausea, mouth sores, etc.). This will be my life, forever, however long that is.
My hope is to pay off the mortgage- this would allow for peace of mind when taking the time off without pay, not having the mortgage payment would also mean that if the day ever comes where I am not doing well and I need to retire early we would be able to survive on Colin’s salary alone. Thank you all for the love and support♥️ we are forever grateful
Hi! My name is Kelsi, and Jenn is my cousin-in-law! Jenn fought breast cancer once and won, or so we all thought. She’s recently been diagnosed with a recurrence that has already spread to her liver (& possibly the T12 vertebrae). This diagnosis came as she was 34 weeks pregnant with baby Lincoln, she was induced and delivered at 37 weeks. Now her and her new family of 5 prepare for her to battle again with chemo infusions and immunotherapy for rest of her life. Jenn’s only wish is to be able to take the year off of work to focus on her treatment, health and her young family. Please consider contributing to help make it happen so they can pay the monthly bills and allow her to take the school year off.
