My name is Dawn Fletcher, and I am asking for help for my mother, Janie Fletcher.

On July 8, 2025, our lives were turned upside down when my mom suffered a severe stroke. Since then, she has been in the hospital fighting for her life. She is currently in the ICU at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, with a tracheostomy to help her breathe. This has been an ongoing battle for weeks, and her road to recovery will be long and uncertain.

My mom is the heart of our family — a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to so many. Seeing her in this condition has been devastating for all of us. As her daughter and medical power of attorney, I am by her side every day, doing everything I can to support her through this fight.

Unfortunately, the medical bills are already at $21,000 and continue to rise daily. This includes hospital stays, procedures, medications, and the specialized care she will need moving forward. On top of that, our family is facing mounting household expenses as I take time off work to care for her.
