I’ve been supporting my mentee, Jabril McGhee, who is currently facing a very difficult time. Jabril and his family were severely impacted by the recent tornado that struck the St. Louis area. Their home sustained significant damage, and Jabril’s car was completely totaled in the storm. The aftermath has placed a heavy emotional and financial burden on his family as they work to recover and rebuild their lives.

Despite these hardships, Jabril remains focused on his academic and personal growth. He is currently enrolled at Lincoln University where he is a stellar student. He has been given a remarkable opportunity to participate in a summer program abroad in Barcelona, Spain—an experience that would not only enrich his education, but also broaden his global perspective and leadership potential. Unfortunately, due to the unexpected financial strain from the tornado’s devastation, his family is unable to provide the support he needs to take part in this opportunity.

I’m doing everything I can to help Jabril regroup and move forward. He has shown tremendous resilience and determination, and I firmly believe that with the right support, he can still make this opportunity a reality. Any assistance—whether financial, logistical, or otherwise—would make a meaningful difference in helping Jabril continue his journey and realize his potential, even in the face of adversity.
