Hi, my name is Alexa, and I’m the proud mother of a bright, beautiful, and medically fragile little girl named Isabella.
Isabella is 4 years old. She loves playdough, coloring, wildflowers, and curling up with me to read books at bedtime. But behind her joyful smile is a complex medical journey and a fight for stability, safety, and peace that no child should have to go through.
Isabella is immunocompromised. She receives monthly IVIG infusions, has severe GI issues, and is under the care of a growing team of specialists including a gastroenterologist, immunologist, ENT, developmental pediatrician, and more. We attend appointments nearly every week, sometimes multiple in a day. She has sensory processing challenges, allergies to dogs, and needs consistent structure and support to thrive.
Our Reality
I manage every part of her care on my own—from transportation to medical appointments, to therapies, to late-night fevers and urgent calls to her specialists. I’m was working part-time just enough to get by and lost my job due to her demanding medical needs. I eventually want become a legal advocate for other moms and children like us. I’ve built our life carefully and lovingly around what Isabella needs most: stability, calm, and medical safety.
But that peace is under threat—again.
Despite having a Final Restraining Order against Isabella’s father due to past abuse, he continues to take me to court. He has now filed for 50/50 custody for the fourth time. He misses 40% of his current parenting time, refuses to follow medical recommendations, and this would give him medical decision making.
This isn’t about shared parenting. This is about control. And the legal system, unfortunately, gives abusers the opportunity to use courtrooms as weapons.
Why We Need Help
I’ve always done everything I can to handle things on my own, but this time, I can’t do it without help.
We need immediate support to pay for legal representation that will protect Isabella. I’m doing everything in my power to keep her safe and shield her from trauma, but I’m up against someone who has more financial power, and no regard for how much this process hurts her.
Your donation will go directly toward:
Retaining and preparing our attorney for the upcoming custody battle
Filing and court fees
Preserving Isabella’s medical stability by fighting for consistent care
Protecting our right to peace and safety
If we raise beyond our legal fees, we will use the funds to support Isabella’s ongoing needs, gas to and from her doctors, sensory therapy supplies, nutrition items she tolerates, and daily essentials as I juggle caretaking and part-time work.
How You Can Help
Whether you can give $5, $25, or more, your support matters. And if you're not able to give right now, sharing this fundraiser with others who believe in protecting medically vulnerable children is just as powerful.
We are tired—but we are hopeful. We are fighting every single day not just to survive, but to build a better, safer future.
Please help us protect Isabella’s childhood, her health, and her healing.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
With love,
Alexa & Isabella
