Aid Baby Holland's Family After Heartbreaking Loss

I am fundraising to help support my sister and brother-in-law during their time of grief.

My 3-month-old niece, baby Holland, suffered from a congenital heart defect that was diagnosed late, and she unfortunately passed away on October 28th, 2024, from a fatal cardiac arrest.

Holland’s parents were having trouble getting pregnant, and they eventually turned to IVF treatments to conceive baby Holland, and eventually Holland was born July 2024, at Lenox Hill Hospital. Baby Holland was said to be a healthy baby and brought our family joy, while her mother unfortunately fought for her life in the hospital due to complications from a c-section. After an 11-day fight, baby Holland and her parents were released from the hospital and settled in at home to enjoy their new life.

Over the next few months, baby Holland’s parents noticed signs that something may be wrong with her and contacted her doctors on several occasions, informing them of their concerns. By September 2024, baby Holland was eventually diagnosed with a moderate congenital heart defect that would require her to have heart surgery at 6 months old which left her parents devastated. Throughout the next few weeks, baby Holland’s parents spent their time taking her to several doctor appointments to ensure she was receiving the care she needed.

At baby Holland’s last appointment, doctors gave her parents the news they had been praying for. They were advised that baby Holland’s condition wasn't as bad as they thought and she wouldn’t need surgery as soon as they anticipated, and her condition would just have to monitor overtime. Baby Holland’s parents were hopeful and felt like their baby had a real chance at life. Putting their trust in the doctors advice, they took baby Holland home, where she unfortunately passed away from a cardiac arrest the very next morning.
