Dear friends, neighbors, and kind-hearted supporters,

I'm reaching out to ask for help on behalf of someone truly special—Forrest Cochise, a young man who has faced more challenges in his life than most of us can imagine, yet continues to embody strength, resilience, and quiet grace.

Forrest was born at just 24 weeks, a premature baby who came into the world fighting. He lives with Cerebral Palsy, is nonverbal, and has been in a wheelchair his entire life. Despite these challenges, he has been surrounded by the unwavering love and care of his incredible family and community—who have dedicated themselves fully to giving Forrest the best quality of life possible.

One of those family members, a proud Army veteran, Jennifer Byers, stepped forward years ago to take on the responsibility of raising Forrest. With deep devotion and quiet strength, she has been his constant—an anchor in his life and a fierce advocate for his needs.

Recently, their life was upended. The devastating floods in New Mexico took away their home, damaged some of Forrest’s critical medical equipment and comfort items, and left them in urgent need of support.

This is a family who has always carried their burdens with quiet dignity. They have never asked for help—but today, I am asking on their behalf. They’ve given so much of themselves, and now, in this moment of crisis, they need their community to lift them up.
