On Wednesday, Jan. 7th, two families were displaced on Woodbrook due to a fire in an abandoned building next door warming up homeless people.
Three days prior, on Sunday, Jan. 5th, 2026, five families were displaced from a fire on the corner of Woodbrook & Retreat due to an abandoned building sheltering homeless next door.
Currently, Heal, Grow & Glo, a non-profit that six months prior had helped this same Woodbrook & Retreat community by providing FREE food, clothing, toiletries, and so much more, is threatened with no heat and shelter due to hardships beyond their control and the federal government's cuts to aid.
This GoFundMe is made by a Woodbrook community member where a 50/50 split of proceeds will go to Heal, Grow & Glo non-profit and the seven families affected by the two fires, including the uninsured property owners. Hopefully, it will at least help with their transition during these difficult times as we pull together as a community to help as Heal, Grow & Glo has done for so many in the Penn-North community.
