In November 2025 two South Central families were confronted with a new, harrowing reality— the heads of their households were detained by ICE.

In the case of one family, a hardworking and dedicated single mother of two young children was detained and has languished in Adelanto for over two months. While it is impossible to fill the hole in a child’s heart left by the departure of a mother, the family is doing everything possible to support her two young children. Housing, feeding, and meeting their needs are difficult tasks, but the family is carrying these out with love, care, and diligence.

In the case of the other family, a loving and resilient father was deported within a month of his detainment. He had been the sole breadwinner of his family. His wife, now working full-time, cares for their five young children. Although she works to support them, their lives are forever changed, marked by a tragedy nobody should ever experience. She cares for them, and tries to give them all they need, but times are uncertain.

I am an educator working in South Central. These families and their stories have left an indelible imprint on my life. Over the last three months, these families have not only suffered through family separation, but housing and food insecurity. I am humbly asking that you donate to provide much-needed assistance to these two families in their time of need. While we may not be able to fill the hole left by a parent, your donation can ensure that children are fed, rent is paid, and the supports each family needs can be accessed.

En Noviembre de 2025, dos familias del Sur Centro se enfrentaron a una nueva y angustiosa realidad: los papas fueron detenidos por ICE.

En el caso de una familia, una madre soltera trabajadora y dedicada con dos niños pequeños fue detenida y ha estado en Adelanto durante más de dos meses. Aunque es imposible llenar el vacío en el corazón de un niño que deja la partida de una madre, la familia está haciendo todo lo posible para mantener a sus dos hijos pequeños. Alojar, alimentar y cubrir sus necesidades son tareas difíciles, pero la familia las realiza con amor, cuidado y dedicación.

En el caso de la otra familia, un padre afectuoso y resiliente fue deportado en el plazo de un mes tras su detención. Él era el que se encargaba de aportar para la familia. Su esposa, ahora trabajando, cuida de sus cinco hijos pequeños. Aunque trabaja para apoyarlos, sus vidas han cambiado para siempre, marcadas por una tragedia que nadie debería vivir jamás. Se preocupa por ellos e intenta darles todo lo que necesitan, pero los tiempos son inciertos.

Soy maestro, trabajando en el Sur Centro. Estas familias y sus historias han dejado una huella imborrable en mi vida. En los últimos tres meses, estas familias no solo han sufrido la separación familiar, sino también la inseguridad de vivienda y alimentación. Pido humildemente que dones para proporcionar la ayuda tan necesaria a estas dos familias en su momento de necesidad. Aunque quizá no podamos llenar el vacío que deja un padre, tu donación puede garantizar que los niños estén alimentados, la renta pagada, y que se pueda acceder a los apoyos que cada familia necesita.
