Help the Kirby Family Recover After a Devastating Home Flood
Everything changed in a single moment—and right now, they’re just trying to hold things together as a family.
I’m sharing this because people I care deeply about are going through an incredibly difficult and unexpected time, and they could really use some support.
Recently, their home suffered a major flood which severely damaged their kitchen and also destroyed much of their basement. What was once their safe, comfortable space has been turned upside down, and they’ve been told they may be out of their home for the next few months while repairs are made.
They do have homeowners insurance, but as many people know, it doesn’t cover everything. They’re already facing a growing list of out-of-pocket costs—possibly replacing the dishwasher, ordering takeout regularly without a working kitchen, and all the unexpected expenses that come with something like this.
His wife also lost her ability to work from home, as her content creation setup was based in the basement that was damaged. Without her tools and workspace, she’s currently unable to generate income. At the same time, he’s had to cut back on work hours to handle everything related to the damage, insurance process, and keeping things together for their family.
Like many families, they were already balancing normal financial responsibilities—student loans, a second mortgage, and everyday bills—and this situation has pushed them into a place they simply weren’t prepared for.
They’re both the kind of people who spend their lives helping others—as a nurse and a physical therapist—and if you know them, you know they would never ask for help unless they truly needed it.
On top of everything, someone very close to them is also facing serious health challenges right now, adding another layer of emotional and financial stress during an already overwhelming time.
They’re doing everything they can to keep life as normal as possible for their kids, but the reality is there’s a lot of uncertainty and pressure right now.
They may need help covering:
- Temporary housing and deposit costs
- Boarding for their four cats and their dog
- Food and daily living expenses
- Replacement of essential items not covered by insurance
They’ve set a goal of $12,500 to help get through the next few months and ease some of the financial strain.
If you’re able to help in any way—whether that’s donating or simply sharing this—it would mean so much to them and their family.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and support people who truly deserve it.
