Asslaimu alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu. In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. All praise is due to Allah. May Allah ﷻ extol peace and blessings upon Muhammad ﷺ
Al-‘Allamah Ibn Badis رحمه الله said: Brotherhood is not a quality that is sufficient to be proven by the tongues; rather, it is a bond and a creed that cannot be realized except through actions.” (1)
So I call upon you, my brothers and sisters in Islam, to kindly donate to this gofundme. Umm Maymunah is a revert living in a toxic household. Her mother and brother physically harm her, her personal items have been thrown out the home, her family has accused her of summoning demons, she’s been kicked out and forced to sleep on the porch, and even after being let back inside she was denied a bed to sleep in. She is living with a non mahram, and has to veil herself in what should be the comfort and safety of her own home. Despite all this, what’s apparent to myself and other sisters is that she persists upon salafiyaah and goodness, may Allah ﷻ bless her.
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
“The believers are nothing else than brothers…” (2)
And Allah ﷻ conveys through his prophet ﷺ
“None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." (3)
“…Therefore, love of wealth, greed, or stinginess should not overtake a person and cause him to deprive himself of the (good of) this wealth. It sits in his hand, and Allah has given him the opportunity to give charity with it and to send forth good for himself. If he withholds the charity with this wealth,
gathering it and hoarding it, then it will depart and leave him and his benefit will go to others while he was the one who wore himself out earning it. So how could he deprive himself? Why did he gather this wealth knowing that he is upon a journey and this wealth will not benefit him unless he sends it forth for himself before death as ongoing charity which will continue after he passes away? The Prophet ﷺ said:
إذا مات ابن آدم انقطع عمله إلا من ثلاثة: من صدقة جارية، أو علم ينتفع به، أو ولد صالح يدعو له.
When the son of Adam dies, his deeds are cut off except three:
-> ongoing charity,
-> knowledge that is benefited from,
-> or a righteous child who supplicates for him. (4).
So, my brothers and sisters, if you have any wealth to spare, then I urge you all to donate and if you have nothing to spare, please spread the word.
بارك الله فيكم وجزاكم الله خيرا
