On August 2nd, our world was shattered when my brother, Jared Klassen, was tragically taken from us by a drunk driver. Jared was a loving husband, devoted father, and a hardworking member of the Carpenters Local 1485.

My sister-in-law, Sam, lost her soulmate. My five-year-old nephew, Abel, lost his daddy. In just a few weeks, they were to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. And next week, Abel will walk into kindergarten without the man who was supposed to hold his hand on the way there.

Jared, Sam, and Abel are a beautiful family who truly love life. They are always up for an adventure—camping under the stars, laughing around the fire, and spending quality time with both sides of their extended families. Their joy is in the simple things: being together, making memories, and loving deeply.
