Hello, my name is Rosalina. I’m here asking for help on behalf of my father Rui Resendes. My father is a hard working legal immigrant. He entered this country in 1982 legally and has been here legally ever since. On the morning of November 19th, immigration officers (ICE) came to my parents home and took him. They illegally took his passport and told my mother they just needed to take him to update some information regarding his recent move and he would be back. My mother then got a phone call hours later saying he was being detained. Since then we’ve been calling lawyers and trying to get ahold of him to let him know we love him and are doing everything in our power to get him home but we have not been able to get many answers regarding his well being. We thankfully have been able to get a lawyer but we need help with the fees. My mother (his wife) is disabled and my father is the main source of income in their household. As you can imagine all these fees and a missing income has put a lot of financial strain on us. If possible we are asking for donations. I don’t do this lightly, my parents raised me to be financially independent but I don’t have the funds to bring my father home. My father is a man of God, he always believes God has a bigger plan and will provide. He has passed his faith on to me and I believe the same. He has offered many hours of service to our parish and has given back to his community and has been someone others can always come to for prayers and help. But now he is the one in need of help. If you could donate anything, even $1 is beyond appreciated. Please also keep him in your prayers, I know he will be home safe with us one day I just pray and hope it’s soon. Thank you.
