Hi, my name is Hanan Saidou.

On October 23rd, my mom passed away. Since then, life has been really hard.

I’m a sophomore at Cornell University and my little sister is about to start her freshman year at Dartmouth College,  our younger brother is getting ready to start high school. We’ve been doing our best to move forward without her, but the truth is that we’re struggling.

Our mom was everything to us. She worked so hard to keep us safe and give us a future. Now that she’s gone, we’re trying to figure things out on our own: school, rent, groceries, bills, and it’s been overwhelming.

I waited a long time to make this fundraiser because I thought I could manage. I didn’t want to ask for help. But I’ve realized that we can’t do this alone.

I’m raising money to help keep us afloat: to cover school expenses, rent, and basic living costs so that my siblings and I can stay focused on our futures, just like our mom always wanted for us.
