For those who don’t know my sister Giana has been in and out of the hospital for quite some time. Giana was recently diagnosed with Antiphospholioid syndrome . Since 2017 my mother has taken her to the emergency room with many unanswered questions. Giana was sick off and on for many years . In 2017 Giana woke up with partial paralysis on the ride side of her face . She was treated for Bell’s palsy. We did not know until recently, my sister had succumbed to a full on stroke on the right side of her brain at such a young age . A few weeks ago Giana returned to the hospital . We knew something didn’t feel right and she was sick again . Her heart rate had increased significantly and the hospital quickly admitted her .After extensive research. With many trips to the emergency room and being sent home , we were given a complete diagnosis. Doctors gave my parents the news . My sister , who just turned 16 , is faced with combating Mixed Connected Tissue Disease , inflammatory disease , blood clot disorder and Heart issues that include ; pericarditis, left ventricular non-compaction ( LVNC) .
There are complications she will live with and she will be monitored closely with daily medication and a heart monitor- until medical professionals can determine whether she is ready to live independently without it . My mom and stepdad have been at her side and have provided an extensive amount of support. Due to the unexpected situation, my parents have had to take time off of work , adjust their schedules, pay for those copays for doctors appointments, equipment, and medical supplies-they are left with financial struggles . My parents have been working together caring for my sister, but I know they could use some help. They are in a financial crisis and we are trying to figure out how to get Giana everything she needs and still maintain housing stability. My parents mean the world to us and we must stay strong for my sister . As I will continue to pray for a miracle , if you could please find it in your heart to help us with any contribution. Our family is at your mercy and we are in need of help until we can get the ball rolling for additional resources through permanent disability as allowable by meeting the criteria. Our lives have been changed forever and I know you are part of our circle of support . I thank you for reaching out to us with phone calls, text messages, and visits . All of you have been amazing . We will be forever grateful. Please continue to pray for Giana and my family ❤️
