Aid for Gaza: Stand with Alaina to Break the Blockade

My name is Alaina, I live in St Augustine, Florida and I want aid to be let into Gaza, for the genocide of Palestinians to end, and for internationally recognized Palestinian statehood. I am fundraising to rent a flying banner that says "We are starving Gaza #FreePalestine" to be flown over Vilano and St Augustine beaches from Beach Banners, Inc. This is an effort to raise awareness of the forced starvation of Palestinians in the Gaza strip. With more voices, more eyes, more awareness, we can increase the pressure on our government to push Israel to break the blockage of aid and save increasingly vulnerable lives.

For almost 2 years, we have watched over 2 million Palestinians be forcibly displaced, bombed daily, and starved. Americans must raise awareness now more than ever as those left in the Gaza strip are being starved to the point of no return.
  • World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on 7/23 that the suffering in Gaza amounted to man-made mass starvation . The UN warns of ‘catastrophic hunger’ in Gaza as Israel announces humanitarian pauses. New Islamic Relief analysis of UN data1 reveals July is now the deadliest month in Gaza for 18 months, with Israel killing one person every 12 minutes as it accelerates the systematic targeting and starvation of civilians.
  • Children are at the greatest risk of starvation. UNICEF estimates that 17,000 children are among those killed since the Oct. 7, 2023, with another 33,000 injured. Speaking at a U.N. Security Council meeting on July 16, UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell said the toll is like "a whole classroom of children killed every day for nearly two years."
  • An average of 119 Palestinians are being killed daily so far in July – the highest rate since January 2024. More than 401 Palestinians a day are being wounded, the highest figure since December 2023, whilst doctors report 19 people, mostly children, died from starvation in just one day this week – victims not just of violence, but of a deliberate policy of deprivation and man-made famine.

Some of us may hold onto the belief that these atrocities will stop, that someone will save Palestinians and justice will be served. History teaches us that these horrors will continue to a point of no return if the public doesn't maintain intense pressure to end them. Those of us watching this inhumanity through our phones will one day have to reckon with how easily we let this happen and ask ourselves what we could have done. On Oct 25th, after just three weeks of the bombardment of Gaza, Omar El Akkad , author of One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This, put out a tweet: “One day, when it’s safe, when there’s no personal downside to calling a thing what it is, when it’s too late to hold anyone accountable, everyone will have always been against this.” This tweet was viewed over 10 million times. Will you speak out against the genocide then, or will you do it now and potentially save lives?

Many disaster relief organizations are equipped to get aid into Gaza, but this aid is being illegally blocked by Israel according to international law . We must raise awareness to get the aid into Gaza and end this horrific genocide before Israel and the United States succeeds in their ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. Please donate, please use your voice before it's too late.
