Help for Edward Lee’s cremation.

Hi, my name is Natalie Olivera. This is my brother Edwardlee Rodriguez for those that might not know he's Diabetic type one, going through kidney failure, has been on Dialysis for about 3 years, was recently diagnosed with Gastroparesis a couple months ago and has a couple other conditions. Since September 2024 my brother has been in and out of the hospital consistently. It's been overwhelming. About almost 2 months ago in one of his hospital stays they discovered a significant amount of gallbladders stones and thought it'd be best to remove his gallbladder to avoid future complications. They removed his gallbladder but a little over a week of coming home from the surgery he went back because he was experiencing a lot of abdominal pain, nausea, and back pain and from that hospital visit they discovered that there was a stitch missed from the surgery and bile was leaking internally. There was infection from that and they removed is Pedi catheter and switched him to hemodialysis. Finally he got referred and got an appointment with a GI doctor but his appointment is in march. He isn't able to tolerate much food and drinks very small amounts. It's been so hard on him, emotionally, mentally, and physically. My brother is a very strong man, he hardly ever complains. But he's getting tired, and we cant blame him.

Today 2/14/25 when I got home from grocery shopping I went to check on him and found his laying on his bed unresponsive foaming at the mouth and cold. He was still breathing but his respirations where maybe 8, it was clear it was hard for him to breathe. I immediately ran to get my mother and called 911, although his G7 read his blood sugar was 103 the EMT's said it was below 30, by the time we got to the hospital it went up to 60 and from there on they where able to get it up to normal. He wasn't able to breathe on his own so they put him on a ventilator and a feeding tube, he was also seizing which is new for him. He was transferred and admitted to a different hospital and now just waiting for an update. They are thinking that seizures is because of the low blood sugar but are doing more tests to make sure there's nothing underlying that could have caused them.

Because of how this has situation has been progressing and my brother needing more help at home, my mother had to leave her job. My brother has been in and out of Goshen, Elkhart, Lutheran, And Saint Josephs. We've been squeezing our wallets to make ends meet between Gas, food, extended stays, and bills its been tight. But now with my mom having to leave her job to focus on my brothers care it is just me working, making ends meet. We are trying to catch up on our electricity bill and save to rent another smaller place and downsize, that way I can make ends meet. But we're really struggling right now. That's why I'm hoping I can have some help from anyone willing. If you can find it in your heart to help us it would be greatly appreciated. And prayers as well. Prayers are priceless, and mean so much to us. My brother is at the top of the kidney and pancreas transplant list and we need to have and emergency fund for when the time comes and we get that call so we're prepared and don't need to worry how we'll get there. Anything that is donated will be used for first for medical bills, and gas. And if we're blessed with more then towards are bills and a smaller home. Thank you.

Change:
My brother will be donating his liver to a potential recipient. Now we will need help with his cremation and memorial service. Please if you can help me with this I’ll greatly appreciate it.
