Dete Andrade do Santos is a single mother who’s daughter Gabi has a very rare genetic disorder, so rare there is no name for it and she is the only one in the world with this condition. Gabi is 19 years old, she is paralyzed, has epilepsy, as well as many other syndromes that accompany her condition. She needs constant care, uses a feeding tube, wears diapers etc. Currently she has been in intensive care for the past weeks. Gabi is often in and out of the hospital.

Her mother Dete is her sole caregiver and can only make money by the art she creates. They live in Ubatuba, Brasil. Dete also has another son, Guilherme, who is 11, a healthy child.

Yesterday, 8/26/2006 while she was at the hospital caring for Gabi, her neghibors house caught fire. The fire spread to her home and the loss was enormous. I am creating this Go Fund Me to support Dete, Gabi and their family during this crucial time. Please give what you can. Together we can make a difference and help them through this painful passage.
