On February 3rd, my mother, Darlene Smith, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer that has metastasized to her liver.

Now, as a family, we are trying to plan how we are going to best take care of her. The cancer is inoperable, and my mother has decided to spend the time she has with family and friends. She has decided not to pursue chemo or radiation and will begin hospice care immediately. She will require care around the clock. My sisters and I are happy to facilitate her care to the best of our ability, but my mother will need some financial support to help her through this time.

I am in Pittsburgh and plan to be here with her for as long as this life grants us.
