Hello, My name is Cameron Houk. I am a self employed auto mechanic. Due to the fact that I am self employed and health insurance wasn't affordable for my family, I am asking for your help and assistance any help would be greatly appreciated.

On March 24,2026 I was accidently shot when my friends gun went off. I almost bled out before the emergency help could get to me. I was then life flighted to UAB for emergency surgery. The bullet entered 3 inches above my knee and lodged in my femur bone. They did get the bullet extracted and I now have 9 nails ,2 rods and a plate from my knee to my hip with 56 staples and 4 stitches holding me together. The Doctors say it will be 6-12 months before I can return to work. On top of that due to the accident and all of the emergency activity my landlord was so unhappy he evicted my wife and I from our home and we are due to have our first baby in August and it is a high risk pregnancy. I am a very hard working young man and it hurts me to ask for help.That being said we are desperately in need of any help we can get. Thank you for any help you can give.
