Assalamu alaykum, I'm creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my best friend and her mom, who are going through an unimaginable loss.

Last night, (7/30/2025 1:48 am) her dad, Mohammad Burhan Chamseddin (Abu Laith) — a hardworking, selfless man — passed away suddenly at 74. Despite dealing with ongoing heart problems and having endured three heart surgeries, he continued to work through his pain because he didn’t want to burden his family. He stayed strong all week, pushing through discomfort, until he couldn’t anymore. When he was finally taken to the hospital, he passed away just five hours later in the ER.

He leaves behind his wife, 57, and their only child, my best friend, who is just 22. They are both devastated and now facing not only emotional heartbreak but serious financial hardship. Her dad was the main provider of their household, and without him, it will be incredibly difficult for them to cover rent, bills, and other basic living expenses.

Her mom is still working, but it won’t be enough to stay afloat — especially while grieving such a huge loss.
