Delivering Aid in Ukraine
Donation protected
My name is Dylan, from Portland, OR, USA. I have spent the last 23 months volunteering in Ukraine, where I've been working to acquire and deliver humanitarian aid, including food, medicine, metal detectors, hygiene kits, and drinking water, to war-torn parts of the country that are in desperate need of it, including villages in the regions of Kharkiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and the Donbas.
Currently, I'm focused on medical aid, sending medicine and supplies to a network of first responders and doctors working in evac teams, in trenches in the east and south front, stabilization points setup between the front lines and the closest proper hospital, and to doctors in those hospitals. These medics tell me it is thanks to independent volunteers such as myself that they're able to have the supplies of meds required to treat the many wounded they encounter each day, because they simply aren't given enough supplies by other means.
When Russia began it's invasion of Ukraine, I was living in the USA. Overwhelmed with anger and a desire to be of help however I could, I traveled first to the Polish border, where I began connecting with other volunteers who shared my vision of delivering aid to where it's needed most. I then traveled into Ukraine, where I began delivering medicine and food by van from Lviv in the west, to cities further east that have suffered greatly by months of war.
Seven weeks later, I began organizing trucks to deliver 10-20 tons of non-perishable food boxes from Lviv to Kharkiv. Once the trucks reached Kharkiv, we worked with local volunteers to deliver the boxes of food to civilians living in partially destroyed neighborhoods, often in parts of the city recently occupied by Russian soldiers.
I created a fundraiser to give others a way to directly help the people in Ukraine who are most in need of assistance, as well as help the medics, doctors, landmine clearing teams, and others who need supplies and equipment to do their jobs. Unlike donating to big NGO’s, you know you're making an impact, you will get to see photos and updates showing what your donation helped purchase, and who benefits. I do this work for free, and don’t use donations for personal food and housing costs. 100% of donations will go toward either humanitarian aid, or the cost of transporting it to those that need it most.
Funds will be used for purchasing and delivering aid, such as canned foods for the elderly, clothes for children in orphanages, medical aid requested by medics working to save lives in eastern and southern Ukraine, pallets of water for people in leaving near Chernobyl who’s water supply has been greatly impacted by both the nuclear disaster and the Russian invasion, and diesel fuel for both the trucks used to deliver aid to the east, as well as the vans used to deliver food and medicine locally in cities in Ukraine.
On behalf of the Ukrainian people, thank you very much for your support. It's needed now more than ever before.
Слава Україні! (Glory to Ukraine!)
