Aid Danny and Melinda in Their Time of Need

Dear friends and family,

For the past few months, our sweet papa, Danny Blackwell, has been battling some health issues that came on quite suddenly. He has been diagnosed with myasthenia gravis as well as a gastrointestinal stromal tumor, which is malignant. With such a sudden onset of extremely uncomfortable and challenging symptoms, his health has been taking a toll, and he has been unable to work altogether. While we've been able to get him on medication to try and stabilize some of his myasthenia gravis conditions, this has been an uphill journey that has put him and our angel of a mother, Melinda, out financially in big ways that they simply cannot afford right now. He is scheduled for surgery on the 20th of January to have his tumor removed, and we are looking forward to this very much in hopes that it relieves the pain, nausea, dizziness, weight loss, and other symptoms he has been grappling with the last few months. The surgery is noninvasive, and he is expected to recover sooner rather than later if all goes smoothly. They will know more once the surgery is complete. His myasthenia gravis is chronic, unfortunately, and the road ahead with this disease is unknown, making it hard to know when or if he will be able to go back to work.

My mother has been his full-time caretaker, by his side helping him to feel any comfort possible. She drives him to all his appointments and has been out of work herself while maintaining their home life and bills so they do not fall behind.

Right now, I speak for my whole family in asking for financial help to get through this difficult time, for the pressure is too great to handle alone any longer. As pillars in the community for so long, my mother and father have touched the lives of so many with their huge hearts, open minds, and giving nature, and it is because of this that I trust the community will rally together to show them the same love they have given.
