Help Dana and Skylar After the Sudden Loss of Vicki, loving wife and mother

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out on behalf of Dana Shamp and his 11-year-old daughter, Skylar, who are facing a heartbreaking and life-changing loss.

On October 19th, Dana’s beloved wife and Skylar’s devoted mom, Vicki, passed away unexpectedly at just 52 years old. This tragic event has completely shattered their world.

At the time of Vicki’s passing, the three of them were visiting family in Maine, far from their home in Alaska. Now, in the midst of profound grief, Dana is left to make some incredibly difficult decisions: Should he remain in Alaska, where he would need to try to find a job in a very small town that would pay him enough to support them? Should he uproot their lives and move closer to his family, and start over? Most importantly, how can he be there full-time for Skylar, who needs her dad more than ever?

Dana’s work schedule is two weeks away from home, followed by two weeks at home, which is no longer an option. He knows he cannot do this anymore! He needs to be home for his girl! This means finding a new job.

This GoFundMe is set up to give Dana and Skylar some assistance to allow them time to grieve, make thoughtful decisions, and begin to rebuild their lives without the added pressure of immediate financial hardship.

Like many families, they lived paycheck to paycheck and were not prepared for this kind of tragedy.
