My name is Carlos Carrero.

My volunteer work in Fairfax County started in 2001.

I've coached and officiated youth basketball in Reston, Herndon, Vienna, Dulles, and the CYA.

I was one of the Fairfax County Volunteers of the Year in 2021.

I'm a father, grandfather, and dogfather.

My problems are the following:

I have a full amputation on my left foot and a partial amputation on my right foot since June of 2021.

I've had 15 surgeries for my limbs.

I lost my vision in my left eye in November of 2022.

Four surgeries later, I am Legally Blind in my Left Eye.

I have Diabetic Neuropathy on my Legs.

I have multiple medical issues.

The last time I worked was in August of 2023.

I'm trying to receive disability from social security.

It has been a long process with multiple denials, which I do not fully understand why.
