Aid Ally in Making track & field World Champ team

Hello!!

 

My name is Nathia Gonzalez, but most people know me as “Ally” and  some call me "Speedy Gonzalez" because I often tend to move and run at a pace that is hard to keep up with. 

I have been a runner my entire life but I actually didn’t know it until I joined my high school’s track team in grade 10. This year marks my 11th year running track and field competitively and to my surprise, I am quite good and have had the honor to represent my birth country of Colombia on a few national teams.

 My track and field career began by running the  400 meter hurdles (one lap around the track with 10 barriers), and exactly on my tenth year I made a sharp and bold left turn around the track and moved up to run the 800m, which is considered the toughest track event. With a full year of consistent training during the 2020 pandemic, in 2021 in my first season as an 800m runner, I captured my first national medal placing 3rd in the Colombian national championships. Unfortunately my efforts were not enough to get me on the 2021 Olympic team, but I ended my 2021 summer season more eager than ever to shoot for the stars and make the 2022 World Championships team, which will be in  Eugene, Oregon USA from July 15th-24th. To make this dream come to life, 

It is of extreme importance to have the opportunities to compete with the best and often times these opportunities are scarce and it takes a great deal of resources to make it work. I love track and field and I believe I am talented enough to one day be a world champion… my dad was a light-heavy weight boxing world champion and I know it also runs in my blood. 

Any person who has a big dream can go great lengths to make their dream come to life, but often times we cannot do it alone. We need a supporting team, people who believe in us as much as we believe in ourselves, and people who support our vision. 

My hope with this campaign is to be able to collect enough funds to be able to do a 6-week competitive circuit in Europe starting in Early May, to support my efforts of making my international devout. Your generous contribution would help to cover my flight ticket, transportation to competitive venues, accommodations during my stay in Europe, and the cost of competitions.
