Aid a Homeless Mother of 6 Receive Housing

I am currently homeless with 6 children. We are living in hotels around Richmond. We need help for the first months deposit and first months rent. The place where we were renting decided not to renew the lease. The rent in Richmond has drastically increased and its been challenging trying to save enough money for both the deposit and first months rent, while paying for weekly hotels and daily living expenses.

My current job has triggered my PTSD and my therapist recommends looking for a new job. I am a recent college graduate. After going to back to college after the death of my daughter 15 years ago. I finally completed my Bachelor's degree and graduated May 2024. It has taken me so long to finish the degree because my daughter died on the college campus and I suffer from severe clinical depression, PTSD, anxiety and panic attacks. In order for me to receive my college diploma, I have to payoff my student account.

I have been working but do not make enough money to pay off my student debt, secure stable housing, pay the monthly storage unit for our items, childcare, gas and daily living expenses. Social services has not been able to assist me because I work and my family size does not qualify for assistance.

Any amount will help me get closer to paying for the deposit, first months rent, our daily living expenses and my student debt account. Giving to my family will provide us with a home and give us a stable environment.

Having the degree that I started so long ago and finally hold it in my hands will help me attain more income for my family.
