Help the Naim Family Survive in Gaza
My name is Ahmad Naim, a young man from Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza.
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for help.
Before the war, my elder brother and I ran a small but successful carpentry business, manufacturing and selling household furniture. Our work supported our entire family. When the bombing began, Beit Hanoun was devastated, and we were forced to flee south, leaving behind our home, workshop, and everything we owned.
Since then, we have lived under unimaginable conditions, displaced more than ten times, fleeing from one destroyed area to another. Today, we are homeless in Khan Younis, sleeping beside an UNRWA school near Nasser Hospital - without a home, without a tent, and without hope unless kind people like you stand by us.
Our Family’s Struggle
My elder brother, Mohammed, the foundation and rock who supported and protected our family, was martyred several months ago while collecting food from an aid distribution site. That responsibility now falls on me.
I have three younger brothers who live with severe disabilities, both physical and intellectual. Each one needs constant care, attention, and medical support that we can no longer provide under these desperate conditions.
• Basel (26 years old) suffers from paralysis in both legs and brain damage. He cannot speak or move and depends on us for feeding, hygiene, and every part of daily life. He also experiences seizures and severe confusion.
• Jamil (22 years old) has developmental and motor disabilities. He walks with difficulty and lacks awareness of his surroundings. If left alone, he can injure himself or wander into danger. He needs adult diapers, medication, and round-the-clock supervision.
• Naser (20 years old) has severe brain damage, can barely walk or speak, and is unaware of his own needs. He often hurts himself unknowingly and requires constant physical support to eat, clean, and stay safe.
They are not just my brothers—they are my responsibility. I love them deeply but love alone cannot meet their needs in these terrible conditions.
Our Parents and Children
My father, Hussein Naim (55), suffers from chronic illnesses, including a heart condition, and can no longer work.
My mother, Azhar Naim (55), has serious back and spine problems caused by years of lifting and caring for my disabled brothers. She now lives in constant pain and can no longer carry on this heavy task.
Together with my brother-in-law, I also care for our extended family’s 20 children—my own, my late brother’s, and my sister’s—ranging from six months to five years old. They have seen nothing but fear and destruction. We do everything we can to protect them, but they have forgotten what childhood means.
Our Current Situation
We are completely homeless.
We live in the open, sometimes under torn plastic sheets or near the rubble of destroyed buildings.
We have no clean water and must walk long distances each day just to fill a single bottle.
We have no food, no proper clothing, no mattresses, and no electricity.
My disabled brothers sleep on bare ground, their skin covered in sores, and they are constantly sick and cold.
We have no toilet, which is especially painful and degrading for my brothers, who cannot clean themselves.
Since UN aid was discontinued in March 2025, we have been left with nothing.
Still, each day I try to find food, water, and medicine to keep my family alive.
What We Urgently Need
We are not asking for luxuries—only the means to survive with dignity and care for our most vulnerable.
Your support will help us afford:
• A new tent or small shelter
• Wheelchairs for my brothers
• Medical supplies and essential medications
• Adult diapers (4–5 per person daily)
• Cleaning and hygiene materials
• A safe, accessible toilet
• Clothing, shoes, mattresses, pillows, and blankets
• Food and clean water
• Transportation to reach medical centres
Your donations will protect my disabled brothers from disease and harm, help my parents continue caregiving without collapsing, and provide food and stability for our children. Most of all, it will give our family a small measure of dignity and hope in this tragic time.
