Help Ahma Surf Empower Children in Sierra Leone!
Across low-income communities, limited opportunities for school and work leave a critical gap in positive, safe, supervised spaces for youth. Without these outlets, young people face the vulnerabilities of idle time and a lack of safe alternatives, making it easy for them to fall through the cracks.
Ahma Surf fills this gap, acting as a vital source of joy, mentorship, and community. Sustaining itself by renting surfboards and offering lessons to visitors, Ahma Surf uses its extra resources to teach children in the nearby communities to surf completely free of charge.
Where your donations go
Right now, we are raising funds to purchase new surfboards, replace worn-out equipment, attend and host competitions, and navigate the bureaucracies of becoming an internationally-registered team. Ahma Surf is located in Number 2 River, and funds may also go toward transportation and food for children in nearby Sussex and Bureh.
If you have used or new equipment you would like to ship to us, we gladly welcome in-kind donations. Please reach out to coordinate shipping.
