Sunflowers for Ukraine
Donation protected
The Sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine. It has quickly become a symbol of peace, solidarity and hope.
We have decided to repurpose one of our fields in West Cork that is usually used for farming to instead sow thousands of Sunflowers to raise money for the people in need in Ukraine.
This is our first time ever sowing a Sunflower. We are pleased to say that with the help from neighbours and Ukrainian families that recently moved to our little corner of Ireland, the planting was completed on Saturday the 7th of May.
Harvesting is planned for early August, and we invite everyone from near and far to come to enjoy the family fun day and pick a sunflower in aid of Ukraine. The exact date depends on when the flowers are ready and will be shared closer to the event.
People are welcome to donate in person while picking their flowers and on here if they cannot make it but would still like to support the effort.
Careful consideration is being made to ensure every cent raised will go directly to people in need. We are liaising with local volunteers already involved in the Ukraine appeal to allocate the funds to the most needed charity streams. All details with transfer receipts will be shared when donations close.
Progress can also be followed here, where we will be posting pictures and updates: https://www.facebook.com/Sunflowers-For-Ukriane-106397415403764
Every Euro makes a difference. Thanks Everyone!
