A portrait of Selma for John

Donation protected
Hello Friends,

John Booth and I recently had a conversation about doing something nice for John Cheeley for his 50th birthday.

We think all would agree he is probably the most generous person we know.

We batted around a few ideas and settled on having a portrait commissioned of his late mother Selma.

We also discussed crowd funding it in some way so others could chip in and give a little something back for John.

Upon recommendation, we contacted Plaid Columns, a collaboration of local Atlanta artists Rob Matre and Evan Jones.

The expense after a very nice discount (thanks Anna) for a 36 x 30 is $2800, and a little less for a 30 x 24. A list of contributors will be included when the project is completed.

Our goal is $3500 for the portrait, frame and fundraising fees. We would also request that this effort be kept quiet and away from social media.

We know John would really appreciate and love this, and what a great way to say thanks for all he has done for each of us over the years.

Thanks for your consideration,

Glenn Gryder & John Booth
