PPE For The People

Many of us know friends, loved ones, and neighbors who have been dramatically impacted by COVID-19. My friend, Wil Berk, (goofy, tall guy pictured above) is among them. Wil is one of the thousands of ER workers in New York who needs our help.
Like a number of public hospitals in the city, his has quickly been overrun. Their stocks of PPE are woefully inadequate. And their doctors and frontline health workers are feeling the stress. These funds will go to the purchase and delivery of essential PPE Wil's hospitals—Elmhurst and Mount Sinai—have identified.
I'm also working to identify other under-resourced hospitals in areas that are expected to be harder hit over the coming weeks. Please reach out if you have any leads.
Specifically, your contribution will help fund:
500 goggles
500 face shields
500 body suits
6,000 surgical masks
2,000 NIOSH N95 masks
Note: I'm raising money to cover only a part of the total cost for purchase and freight from China. I'm working closely with a friend in Hangzhou who has assembled a list of trusted suppliers. (Long story there, so please reach out directly if you need more details about that). And I was able to lock-in prices and bypass a lot of the complexities associated with institutional procurement and Trump's trade war. So I assure you this is one of the most expedient and cost-efficient ways you can help.
Bonus: A portion of funds will also go toward PPE and other needs for mutual aid groups in Portland, Oregon that are working with some of the most vulnerable communities hit by COVID-19. If we are able to raise more than the stated goal, more funds will go toward PDX COVID-19 Mutual Aid and Street Roots' Vendor Assistance Fund.
