Help Get This Truck Back on the Road – Supporting People Exiting Homelessness
Since 2020, this hardworking truck—personally owned by the Acting Executive Director of Our Livable Solutions (OLS)—has been quietly doing some of the most important work in our community: helping people without homes find their way to safety, stability, and hope.
Donated for full-time use to support OLS’s mission, this truck has become so much more than just a vehicle. It’s been a lifeline. Thanks to this truck:
People have moved out of encampments into housing
Community members have accessed critical medical care and treatment centres out of town
Individuals have been able to reconnect with family, find employment, and attend housing appointments
Loved ones have been respectfully transported to their final resting places
And yes—there have been joyful moments too: fishing trips, dirt biking adventures, and even appearances in Santa parades
Every dent and scrape on this truck has a story. Stories of trust built, spirits lifted, and lives changed.
But now, this truck needs our help. Its transmission has finally called it quits, and getting it rebuilt will cost $7,500. This vehicle—and its owner—have never asked for much. In fact, the only funding ever received for its use was to cover gas on two special support trips: one for cancer treatment, and one to accompany someone to rehab in Sudbury.
Let’s come together to get this truck back on the road, so it can keep showing up for people who need it most.
Every dollar helps. Every share counts. And every gesture brings us closer to a community where no one is left behind.
Let’s keep this truck truckin’—because hope, dignity, and connection are always worth the ride.
