Age UK Tunbridge Wells 2021 Funding

Following the 2021 budget meetings held by Kent County Council, it was decided that no money would be allocated to Age UK Tunbridge Wells in order to support the work that they do across many villages and local areas for the elderly.

The loss of this budget means that the centre is at risk of closure and the essential work that they continue to do, and have done for so many years, will end.

As a volunteer for Age UK Tunbridge Wells, I have seen first hand the essential work that they have carried out over the years, even more so during 2020. A centre such as this one is essential to the elderly and it gives them not only essential services but also the freedom to socialise, interact and in general avoid the feeling of loneliness that many elderly people experience daily.

The money raised will help keep the centre open, the work and services available and allow so many to continue to enjoy the work that the centre and team do.

The amount is just a goal and obviously to come anywhere near it would go above and beyond any expectations but I would be delighted to raise even just a small percentage of the target, as something is always better than nothing!
