AfroCom: The new Transnational Afro-Civil community Platform

"One African, One Dollar" Campaign

We're on a mission to empower the global African community through the AfroCom platform. To achieve this ambitious goal, we've launched a crowdfunding campaign with a target of $1.5 billion over three years. This reflects the size of our potential user base - an estimated 200 million people in the diaspora and over 1.4 billion within the continent.
Every "One African, One Dollar!" contribution brings us closer to our vision.

Here's How We'll Use Your Contributions:
  • 20%: Supporting AfroCom's operations until we reach break-even, projected within three years (2027).
  • 80%: Invested in community initiatives, scholarships, and other programs chosen collaboratively by AfroCom users and the broader African community. This ensures your contribution has a direct and lasting impact.

Why Support AfroCom?
AfroCom is a community-driven platform. We prioritize reinvesting profits back into empowering our members and fostering initiatives that uplift the African community. While this means we may not offer traditional investor returns, it guarantees our commitment to serving our users - the global Afro-community.

As a token of our appreciation, we've prepared a special thank-you package for all our donors (refer here)
We hope you like it!

What is AfroCom?
AfroCom is a next-generation community-driven super-app platform geared towards citizens’ (user) well-being and community growth. That is driven by collective intelligence(CI) and community-chain technology.

Our Focus is on the Afro-community in Africa and the diaspora

Well-being and Community-centric - our priority is co-creating useful and engaging platform features that promote user well-being and community-ness. We believe that the well-being of the individual selves is the well-being of the collective self or community. Current features include personal holistic well-being assistance, decentralization, community-driven post-sharing, connection-making, and a whole lot

Super App - a super app is a mobile application that provides various seemingly unrelated services via a single mobile interface. Rather than having multiple apps for different services, a super app aims to provide users with access to multiple services in a single location. AfroCom offers self-development, both community and social networking and co-creation features, entertainment, e-commerce, education, fintech, business and e-government solutions, and more. The idea is to simplify by reorganizing your digital life and save time for more important things; family and loved ones, nature, and spirituality.

Collective Intelligence - artificial intelligence is intelligence demonstrated by machines, as opposed to natural intelligence displayed by animals including humans. Similar to AI and or fused with AI, Collective intelligence is more humane and sustainable and poses no fear to the human race. According to Eric S. Raymond (1998) and JC Herz (2005), open source intelligence will eventually generate superior outcomes to knowledge generated by proprietary software developed within corporations (Flew 2008). Media theorist Henry Jenkins sees collective intelligence as an 'alternative source of media power', related to convergence culture

Community (pod)-chain - Like blockchain, this takes it to a more humane and eco-friendly level. We don't need an expensive and energy-consuming data house but using our user phone’s excess storage space we can build a multi-chain or pod-connected cloud data house to run the platform. This pod-chain gives you more privacy, security (like p2p), and other benefits than today's blockchain technology. Blockchains struggle with speed.

Why AfroCom?
We live in a time of massive institutional failure where our individual and collective actions yield undesirable outcomes. The list is well known: inequalities, climate change, hunger, poverty, terrorism, violence, destruction of communities, nature, and life — the very foundations of our social, economic, ecological, and spiritual welfare.

These times call for a new consciousness and a new collaboration and collective leadership capacity to meet these challenges in a more conscious, intentional, and strategic way. The development of such a capacity would allow us to create a future of greater possibilities.

That such capacity is the AfroCom Super - App

A platform as a tool born out of the Ubujima Initiative: a transnational Afro-civil movement to mobilize and connect all things African (people, history, culture, ideas and aspirations, resources, etc) towards co-creating a new transnational Africa as desired by and for all.

Current Status
Ready to Launch, Powered by Community
We're excited to announce that AfroCom is on the cusp of a major milestone!

Here's a look at where we stand:
  • Platform Development: The AfroCom platform is nearing completion. We've built a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), incorporated valuable user feedback, and ensured scalability for a massive user base. Currently, we're in the final testing phase and aiming for a public launch before summer 2024.

  • Building a Strong Community: We haven't just been focusing on technology. We've also been actively building a vibrant online community through social media. This network of passionate individuals fuels our vision of a connected Africa.

AfroCom's journey has been largely self-funded, thanks to the dedication of our co-founder Daniel Addo-Brown, and few others.

But here's where you come in!
With your help, we can take AfroCom to the next level. Every contribution, large or small, brings us closer to empowering the African community.

Why Your Support Matters!
AfroCom is a community-driven platform, reinvesting 80% of any future profits back into empowering our members and fostering community initiatives. While this means we can't offer traditional investor returns, it ensures AfroCom remains true to its mission of serving the African community.

  • Building a Sustainable Future, Together:
Our innovative business model positions AfroCom for long-term financial stability, aiming to reach break-even within two years. However, your contribution today can significantly accelerate our development.

  • Every Contribution Makes a Difference:
We welcome donations of any size! Your contribution, no matter the size, will directly fuel AfroCom's growth and empower the initiatives you care about.

As a token of our appreciation, we've prepared a special thank-you package for all our donors (refer here)
