Help us reach 3,000 farmers and 150 scientists across Nigeria, Kenya & Ghana
We’re launching a 2026 pilot in Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana to support 3,000 farmers and 150 scientists through co-learning, climate-smart agricultural training, and free health checks. Farmers across Africa face climate shocks, low yields, and limited healthcare, yet they feed millions. Your support will strengthen their knowledge, health, and resilience as we lay the foundation for AGRIIP’s mission to empower 10 million farmers across Africa.
Goal: $100,000
Why this micro-pilot matters
Smallholder farmers grow most of Africa’s food, yet they face daily challenges that threaten their livelihoods and food security:
• Climate extremes
• Declining soil fertility
• Low crop yields and high post-harvest losses
• Rising input costs
• Pests and diseases
• Limited agricultural extension support
• Limited access to basic healthcare
At the same time, many African scientists want to develop practical, farmer-focused solutions (e.g., improved seeds, climate-smart practices, soil innovations), but often lack research infrastructure, field access, funding, and opportunities to work directly with farmers. This pilot bridges that gap.
Farmers receive training and essential health support, while scientists gain real-world insights needed to design innovations that truly meet farmers’ needs. This two-way learning strengthens both sides and builds a foundation for scalable, locally driven solutions.
What your support makes possible
In 2026, JR Biotek Foundation and AGRIIP will deliver a multi-country pilot in:
- Nigeria
- Kenya
- Ghana
Reaching:
• 3,000 farmers
• 150 scientists & agricultural extension professionals
This program includes:
1. Farmer–Scientist Co-Learning Sessions
- Climate-smart agriculture
- Indigenous crop knowledge
- Soil & seed management
- Sustainable pest and disease strategies
- Real problem-solving based on farmers’ experiences
2. Free Health Checks & Essential Medicines delivered by licensed medical professionals:
- Blood pressure checks
- Blood glucose screening
- Eye checks
- Nutrition guidance
- First aid
- Prescription of essential medicines
- Health cards for each farmer
For many participants, this will be their first-ever preventive health screening.
Who is behind this?
This pilot project is one important part of AGRIIP, an Africa-wide initiative led by JR Biotek Foundation to:
- Empower 10 million farmers
- Equip 10,000 scientists & innovators
- Protect 30 indigenous crops
- Catalyse 1,000 sustainable ventures
The program is delivered by a group of dedicated AGRIIP volunteers across Africa, the UK, the US, and Europe, ensuring that donations go directly to support farmers.
Funding Goal: $100,000
How your donation will be used:
- $28,000 — Medical teams, tests & essential medicines
- $8,000 — Farmer training materials & translations
- $24,000 — Co-learning workshops, venues & demonstration plots
- $10,000 — Scientist engagement & field innovation micro-grants
- $18,000 — Transport & logistics across Nigeria, Kenya & Ghana
- $6,000 — Community mobilisation (Roots of Resilience mini-summits)
- $4,000 — Storytelling, documentation & reporting
- $2,000 — Demonstration kits, supplies & contingency
Your impact:
- $30 = supports 1 farmer
- $150 = supports 5 farmers
- $300 = supports 10 farmers
- $750 = supports 25 farmers
- $1,500 = supports 50 farmers
- $3,000 = supports an entire community cluster
- $10,000 = supports an entire community cluser + scientists
- $100,000 = delivers the entire 3-country pilot
Your support will help our farmers gain the knowledge, health, and confidence they need to continue feeding nations while empowering African scientists to design the solutions of tomorrow.
Every donation, big or small, moves us closer to more resilient communities in African nations.
Thank you for believing in farmers, in science, and in a stronger food future for Africa.
