Across Africa, millions of smallholder farmers face hunger worsened by climate change, soil degradation, and crop diseases. At the same time, thousands of bright young African scientists long to create solutions but lack the resources, mentorship, and infrastructure they need.
At JR Biotek Foundation, we believe lasting change happens when farmers and scientists work together as equal partners, not as recipients of aid, but as co-creators of practical, resilient solutions.
Our Approach
Through our Agri-Innovation & Impact Project (AGRIIP), we are building a 10-year grassroots movement to:
Train 10,000 African scientists with cutting-edge skills.
Empower 10 million farmers to co-create climate-smart innovations.
Safeguard 30 indigenous crops vital for Africa’s food future.
Catalyse 1,000 ventures to strengthen local food systems.
Our Impact So Far
- 270+ scientists trained in person, 30,000+ virtually across 20+ African countries.
- Startups supported now reaching 2,500+ farmers with indigenous seeds and climate-smart practices.
- Farmer–scientist pilots are being implemented in Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya.
- Partnerships with Cambridge University, CSIR-Ghana, Centre for Dryland Agriculture (Nigeria), SPUN, and others.
