Friends of the Tombet family have joined together to help the Tombets with the American dream of owning a home. The gift of a down payment would make this dream a reality. Parfait Tombet claims Genesis 12:4-9 is his story....the story of Abraham leaving his homeland, traveling to a new land, building a family, and then building an altar to the Lord who called him. This is their story...
As people searching for a new land, the Tombets escaped war in the Congo and journeyed to America separately. Parfait arrived in 2013 to Colorado Springs, Ines in 2008 to New York. Parfait joined Village Seven Presbyterian Church as a brother in Christ. Over the years we prayed for his success as he learned English, found a good job, and became an American citizen. For 4 years we prayed for a wife. He desired to marry a Christian woman from his hometown.
Amazingly, Parfait met Ines Nzinga and they married in 2018. They began building their family. Today, they have 2 children, with another due November 1. Believing Colorado is a good place to raise their family within a Christian community, the Tombets found a two bedroom apartment they can afford. It is 750 square feet. They are saving to move to a bigger home. Parfait works as a sterilization specialist at the hospital, and Ines is a seamstress. Hospitality is important to them as they often invite friends and family from near and far into their small home. They send money home to Gabon, a city in the Congo, to help family that resides there. We have reviewed their budget, met with a realtor, and know they can’t afford a home in Colorado Springs without assistance on the downpayment.
When Parfait came to America at 40 years old, he left everything . He had to rebuild his life and fortune again. Restarting from ground zero is hard at 40 years old, in a new country. We are so thankful for the life Parfait and Ines have rebuilt with God’s help. We want to help them rebuild, and so we began to wonder, what can we do ? We realized that if they had a large down payment, they could afford payments on a modest home. Then we heard of GoFundMe and wondered, “Who else would like to help the Tombets?”
We are attempting to raise $45,000, which is 15% of the cost of a modest home, to help get their monthly payment down to a size they can afford. They have personally saved 5% already. After this, we will pray for an affordable home in Colorado Springs at just the right location for them to flourish. Together we will testify with the Tombets , “Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!” 1 Chronicles 16:8
Would YOU like to help make this dream a reality for the Tombets? If your answer is “Yes”, THANK YOU! Please donate at GoFundMe and begin praying for their new home!
