Urgent: Afnan from Gaza needs to evacuate - please help!

I just spoke to Afnan and the situation has shifted. Afnan and the family now need to evacuate to the south of Gaza due to ongoing military operations as I am told. All the funds going forward will be used to secure a transportation for Afnan and the family.

Hi, my name is Gasper and I'm raising funds for Afnan and her family in Gaza who are down to one meal a day, mostly flour or lentil bread.

I first met Afnan, a voice artist from Gaza, about a year ago when I saw an online reel that showed she had built a makeshift recording "studio" in her tent, as a way to continue her freelance work.

I found her desire to continue her work in spite of extremely challenging conditions marked by intermittent electricity, poor internet access (and almost no quite place necessary for creative work such as hers) very inspiring.

The fact that she was forced by the war to leave all her professional equipment behind (laptop being one of them) made it impossible for her to work and earn any income.

I then reached out to the local organisation that supports freelancers and other tech-related workers from Gaza with an offer to cover the costs of whatever laptop was available on the market. After a few weeks of search we were able to locate a suitable computer, and Afnan soon began to reach out to her old clients for more work.

Unfortunately, due to frequent displacements and the escalating war situation it soon became even more difficult for Afnan to work, until the lack of available food and general malnutrition started to take a toll on her health causing her voice to deteriorate to the point where she could no longer get hired.

Fast forward to today, Afnan and her family are struggling to survive.

This is not an overstatement, this is the reality of the situation. They are barely getting by, scrapping any flour or lentils they can get a hands on to bake bread. With the exorbitant prices on the market caused by extreme scarcity, there is almost no other food to eat. We're not talking about bread as a nice-to-have alongside another dish. No, we are talking about bread being THE ONLY thing to eat all day.

We need to help Afnan and her family get through this unbearable time with some dignity and hope.

The goal is simple: please donate some money so they can buy food for the coming weeks. Every pound/euro/dollar counts, no mater how little or how much and will go directly toward helping this family survive.

I’ll personally be distributing the funds to Afnan via online payments.

We often feel powerless watching the news, not knowing how to help. This is one small but real way to make a difference in someone’s life.
