Afghan Women Voices Matter, Their Lives Do Too

My name is Emi, and I’m the President of the Still She Rises Foundation — a grassroots organization born from heartbreak and built on hope. We exist to uplift and protect the rights of women who have been silenced, abandoned, and erased. Today, I’m reaching out to you not just as an advocate, but as a human being deeply shaken by what is happening to Afghan women.
Since the fall of Kabul and the return of oppressive rule, Afghan women have faced unimaginable suffering. Girls are banned from attending school. Women are forbidden from walking freely, working, or even laughing in public. Those who dare to speak up vanish. Others are beaten into silence. Many live like ghosts in their own country — unseen, unheard, and unprotected.
I’ve listened to their stories. I’ve cried reading the words of mothers who can no longer feed their children because they're not allowed to work. Teen girls who taught themselves in secret by candlelight — only to be found, dragged away, and punished. Sisters who buried their books in the dirt like graves.
This isn’t just a crisis. This is a war on womanhood.
The funds we raise here will go directly toward:
Emergency evacuations for women at risk
Safe housing for those who have fled
Educational support for girls denied schooling
Mental health services for survivors of trauma
Legal aid and visa support for asylum seekers
Every dollar brings us one step closer to safety for someone’s daughter, sister, mother, friend.
If you’ve ever believed in a woman’s right to live freely, to dream boldly, to rise — I’m asking you to act now. These women cannot wait. Their lives depend on the compassion of strangers. On people like you.
We are their hope.
Please donate, share, and help amplify this call for justice. Your support, no matter the size, is a lifeline.
With love and unwavering hope,
Emi
