Child Burn Victim - Mehria
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Carly, and I am fundraising on behalf of Mehrias family.
Meet Mehria, a 9 yo girl from Afghanistan. Three years ago, she was horrifically burned over much of her body. Shriner's Hospital of Dayton, Ohio has agreed to treat her burns for FREE because her home country lacks the appropriate specialists and facilities to do so. Treatments including surgeries, injections and therapies will allow Mehria to restore her mobility and help relieve her chronic pain.
Mehrias monthly treatments have been going well, and she began school this past February. She is learning more everyday, and is so overjoyed that she is able to go to school. She is a very sweet kid, who is looked up to by her younger brother and sister. She is a wonderful kid, and sets a great example for her siblings.
Although treatment at Shriners is free, we are currently in need of financial assistance for Mehrias family. Funds that come in will go towards helping with Charlotte living expenses including monthly rent, utilities, groceries etc. Mehrias mother looks forward to working (she has a degree in law), but cannot do so until Mehria's surgeries are further down the line and she gets approved for childcare benefits.
Any funds that are raised will go directly to everyday expenses for the family. Diapers, food, medical appointments for the younger children, language classes, and summer camp for Mehria, so she can continue to learn over the summer.
Any amount you are able to give is so appreciated. We have a great community of helpers, and anything you are able to give will be received warmly, and with the greatest of thanks. Your donation is truly helping to change lives.
